About the Pines
A rich history
The tale of The Pines begins in the year 1930, when it first emerged as a vision brought to life by Richard Grantham. Originally one big lodge, With its grandeur standing proudly at the tip of the lake, this remarkable lodge became a beacon of elegance and refinement.
Over the decades, The Pines became more than a lodge; it became a living testament to the tales of pioneers, lovers, and wanderers who found solace in its embrace. The lodge's architecture mirrored the heart of Tasmania itself – rugged, enduring, and eternally alluring. Alas, time's hands moved on, and The Pines eventually vanished, leaving behind whispers of a legacy that transcended mere bricks and mortar.
In 1986 the infamous lodge was beyond repair, so it was sadly removed for safety reasons. Fast forward to 2023, and we've revived the old site with seven individual cabins to page homage to its rich history.
Our Story
In a tale of revival and rejuvenation, The Pines rises once again in 2023, reimagined and reborn under the visionary touch of architect Anupa Gautam. Guided by a passion for heritage and a deep respect for the untamed beauty of Tasmania's landscape, Anupa embarked on a journey to breathe new life into the storied walls of The Pines.
With meticulous attention to detail, Anupa's design seamlessly blends the lodge's historic essence with modern sensibilities. Every corner tells a story, and every room exudes a sense of timeless elegance.
